in the review of the rubicon on atv connection they said that it has 10" of ground clearance, how?? it has a solid axle. i looked at the pic and do not see that much clearance, it only has 25" tires too. thats only 1" less that the sportsmans with IRS. is this a missprint or "creative marketing" meaning they measure it in a way that give the biggest number even if its not accurate. thanks...

not a misprint, I own the sp500 which has 11" like you said, and I own a rancher that with 24" tires it has 9.8". I have mesured both my quads and this is accurate. Therefore 10" on the rubicon doesn't seem like a misprint to me. The nice thing about the rubicon is that it has good ground clearance and also sits a little lower than the sp500, which could help top heavyness.

Is that 9.8 at the rear diff housing? If it is that is really good.

It's 10" under the rear housing for the Rubicon and 9.8" under the housing for the Rancher. The SP500 has 11" GC without anyone sitting on it. The suspension squats some with the rider on it, bringing the GC down, depending on the weight of the rider.

Bull Crap! I saw a Rancher today, and it is nowhere near 10" at the rear housing. Maybe at the axle but not at the rear housing. Dig up a dirtwheels test and look at their measurements. Its utterly impossible with stock tires. That is frame to ground boys. No doubt about it. I've taken tape measures to dealerships to do just this and for the most part, everything is between 7 and 8 inches at the lowest point, that being the rear gear housing.

No need to spread a bunch of BS around here on the ground clearance thing. I don't invite it, but I will stand up to any arguement on this one. 10" at the housing is absurd with stock tires.

lats clear this rancher thing up real quick.

i just measured mine
---rear axle----10 inches exactly
---bottom on rear dif, skid plate-----just a smidge under 8 inches.

those are the measurements that i just took.
if ya want an exact number for the dif.skid plate i'll hafta remeasure.

So it is clear now 7 7/8th inches ground clearance for the Rancher.

thanks bud. Right where I said. Between 7-8 inches at the lowest point. The actual lowest point on the sportsman is where the front a-arms meet the wheels. With the strut design, it is lower than a lot of others, but everywhere else makes up for that and then some.

Yeah, my bad, I was measuring under the rear tow hitch. At it's lowest point on the rancher, the clearance is just a tad under 8".
