Default Is it true about the oil change interval on the Predator?

One person so far has said Polaris has lightend up on the Oil change interval. Any one else here this? He was told the oil interval changes are as follows, 1hr on the first, 10hrs on the second, and 50hrs there after.

Can anyone shed more light on this?

I was the person who made that post, but since then I have received my factory service manual and it says on page 2.2 oil changes every 100hrs or 1000 miles. I am best friends with my dealer and I was in his dealership today and I asked him what the deal was with the service intervals, he called Polaris and they told him that the owners manual is a missprint and should say 100hrs or 1000miles. The conversation took place on a speaker phone and I heard the whole conversation with my own two ears, first hand. I'm going 100 miles.

Break-in one thing. After that when my oil looks dirty, I change it. Also after break-in I do two oil changes to one filter change. But then again I will only run my mach no more than 50hrs without doing both. Not unless I'm raceing real hard, and useing just a little clutch(the clutch burning is what make oil go bad fast). Then I'll change it after each race.
Hope this helps

Also if I do'nt say it, the finer the dust that gets past your air filter turns oil black real fast( also wears the h*ll out of your engine and clutch fast)

I can see maybe 50 hours, but not 100, personally. I was trying to compare it to a car, but with the "wide open" to nothing and back again that a quad takes, I would think that the oil would break down faster in a quad than a car. Just my 2 cents. The first 3 oil changes that I've done was at 1 hour, 10 hours and 20 hours.

ProX, I am with you. The oil and filter is cheap enough so I dont mind doing it often. HELL I might go change it now. Better to be safe than sorry.
