You will have to read your state laws, but yes, here in Iowa, if you get a speeding ticket on a 4-wheeler, it's the same as getting one in a car...but they will try to slap much more on the 4-wheeler!! Basically, don't ride on the street. This also give atv's the bad rap that loses our trails...especially if you do somehting dumb in front of a car...1 can spoil the fun for all...just remember that...help keep our trails open to us!

dang it sucks up there. are you riding on a city street or county road or what? i know here where i live in mississippi, it all really depends on who the cop is that pulls you over. if you are just barely in the city limits at a lot of places around here, they will pull you over and i suppose you could get a ticket, but the most a city cop has ever said to me was, that i didn't pay taxes to have it on the road coz i didn't have a tag for it, therefore it wasn't supposed to be on the road, and he griped about not having a helmet on. but i have never been pulled over by a county cop, they usually never say anything, i guess you could meet an a$$hole cop and he might try to do something. i have even met a state trooper on an old 2 lane highway and he didnt even pull us over. so i guess it mainly depends on the cop. just stay off the streets in the city limits. thats all i ever learned.

They probably could do both but I don't think your license would be in jeopardy unless you created some sort of accident or were wreckless driving. In my little town in Ky. we don't really even get a warning unless we were just in the middle of town. It also depends on which cop, most sheriffs or county cops will kind of let it slide or not even look your way but state boys will probably bust your a@@.
