when is a new atv broke in?

Default when is a new atv broke in?

I got 100 miles and 7.5 hours on my new 500 ho, so i started riding it down the rode 60mph, i didn't hurt it did I?

no you didn't hurt it.. two dealers have told me it takes about 500 miles
before breaking in a sportsman(that was a 500 and a 500 h.o., don't know
about the 600/700 clan)...

but,,,,, when new, don't go wot on the quad, vary your speed and only run
higher throttle for short bursts, don't keep the throttle buried for the
first few hundred miles and you'll be fine.. running one at top speed for
extended periods of time before break in is what hurts a motor.. as long
as you didn't do this, you'll be fine.

Book says 20 hours or 200 miles for the SP600 & 700.

I only ran it buried for about 10 seconds and I've been varying the throttle positions

you'll known when you change the motor-oil,it will show if you need more time,if the engine run cooler then it is braked-in fine...
