I just switched to a 13t. front and am also running a 38t rear. You can get both at Sprocket Specialists. $20 for a front sprocket..makes a huge difference in the low end!!

Also, it depends on what kind of riding that you do. I have more open areas where I ride, so I was disapointed in the 13 tooth, I keep looking for another gear! I'm going to try the 13 tooth with a 36 rear and see if that combo is what I like, I just need more top end than what I get from a 13/37 combo. I do like the 13 tooth however because the chain doesn't ride as bad on the roller.

I know Heapster was commenting about gearing back up too. I think I'll probably be running the 14/38 for general riding, and 13/38 for the harescrambles.

Thanks for the info ProX, but I think the local series is gonna be enough this year. I will be heading that way to catch the ferry ride to Silver Lake though. Been meaning to try that the last couple of years, and this is gonna be the one. Do they let you water-ski behind da boat? hehe. Captain, what happens when I lean on this lever?
