I went riding today and I splashed through a water hole 2 or 3 times and it got the belt wet. Then I got on my friend's trail blazer and rode it through a couple times and got it wet too. I rode with Hondatrx300ex(nickname on atvconnection) home and got my sportsman and towed them both home.. We called his dad and asked him about it and he said there was a drain plug in the PVT casing.. I couldn't find it.. I have a Polaris master manual and still couldn't locate it. Do any of you know where it is if there is one? Thanks!!

There is no Drain. You just have to take the cover off. All you should have to do is take it out off gear for a little bit,and it will get rid off the water-depending on how much is in there.

Agree, there is no drain plug or hole.

Service manual says:

PVT Drying,

If water is ingested, shift transmission to neutral and rev engine slightly to expel moisture and air dry the belt and clutches. Allow engine RPM to settle to idle speed, shift transmission to low range and test for belt slippage. Operate ATV in low range for a short period of time until PVT system is dry.

Walking or towing your machine home because of a wet belt is your choice, not the machine's. If you follow the above procedure, which only takes a few moments, the system will dry itself and you will be on your way.

DEEJ is completely right about drying a wet belt. There is absolutly NO need to tow a wet belt home.Doing what DEEJ says in the above post will definatly work.

H.O. is for High Output, it makes more power than the standard engine.
