I found a 400 scrambler 4x4 for 2750.00 its a 96 model. I havent seen it yet but owner says its in good shape but the tires are 3/4 gone which is no problem. I was told that the rear breaks on these 400's are real bad is that true? This guy says that the brakes do sound like metal on metal in rev only foward he says they sound fine. I can get him down some on the price for sure it sounds like but dont want a problem machine. What should this bike be worth?
Thanks

I have seen some 500's (scramblers) for 3700.00 around here 1997's but I want a 2 stroke. Yes send me a list of some 400 4x4 scramblers. This seems to be a good price from what I have seen them going for but know there is always someone out there ready to give one away and I am ready to get one of those. I have a 96 Banshee pipes, coolhead 20cc, K&N filter, boost bottle, and FMF torque reeds and want something that will keep up with it for the kids. I have seen some 400 scramblers at Little Sahara that ran real fine.

Kelley Blue Book, www.kelleybluebook.com, shows the trade in to be $2255 and the retail to be $3310 for a 96 Scrambler 4x4 in "good condition". Hope this helps.

I purchased the machine for $2400.00 but found out that one strut was bad and one cv boot and A arm bushings are bad. It will cost about $100.00 to fix. It seems to run great just maybe a little rich. I might go to mix 40 or 50 to 1 instead of injected. I got this for my wife and kids to ride, I have a 96 Banshee that is pretty hot so I wont be riding it too much. They will take it easy for sure on the Scrambler. What do you mean you have had problems? Can I prevent them from happening? I am a #1 first class cheap ******* and dont want to spend much more on this 4x4. I feel I could get my money back easy around here for what I have in it now.

Well I'll tell you about my problems. First I blew my motor. Then my AWD button broke twice. I had a broken groung wire that toke me many hours to find. My starter got all ****** up-I just put a starter block off kit on. 4th set of struts-now I have fox rebuildable ones. I replaced four gears and two chains-both chains was rear one. I also broke a swingarm bolt.
ALMOST ALL COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF I WOULD HAVE MAINTAINED IT AND NOT DROVE LIKE AN IDIOT! I would recamend that you buy a polaris servise manual from shade tree. It only says up to 95 but the scrambler didn't change much from 95 to 96.

Blew the motor? How'd you do that? The struts seem to be so so and the starter deal really isn't that big a deal I own a starter rebuilding shop. This 4 wheeler will be rode easy, kids and wife are scared of it, which is good they should be. Me, I push my Banshee pretty hard so I need any extra money to keep it running strong.
