IRS Ride

Well i bought a new sp 600, and to say the truth I dont think it rides as good as my straight axle magnum 500. It is way to stiff, you hit a rock or bump and it throws the machine up in the air (not soaking it up) The preload is as loose as it goes.....I weigh 150lbs but that shouldnt matter much......I know it is new machine but will it get smoother as the machine brakes in???? it has about 20 hrs and 100 miles and it is still very very stiff.....guess i was just expecting a better ride with the independent rear like everyone says it is.........the front rides real good though....

no i dont think the problem is my atv,,,,,,when i pushed down on the other ones at many dealers they are all just as stiff, (not movable with one person(150lbs)) I dont know i just like the ride of the strait axle better than independent...

I think you will notice a difference when you get some more miles on it. They are usually a little stiff until they get broken in. I weigh only 145 lbs so my weight is not far from yours. I can't get away from how comfortable my SP500 HO rides. The first four- wheeler I owned, a SP335 rode just like my SP500 HO-smooth. My sportsman soaks up everything I throw at it. While I have not ridden on a Magnum 500 before, I have rode on other atvs that have a solid rear axle.
