Default Trailblazer 250 question

I just bought a used HSP pipe for my '03 TB. I just installed it, but have yet to ride it due to lack of time. I am currently running a white primary clutch spring. I am just starting my mods, so other than this the machine is stock. Any suggestions for a new primary spring to compliment the pipe? Also, any suggestions for re-jetting the carb? I haven't started that yet either. I bought three new main jets to try (150, 160, and 170). HSP suggests a 150 main, but doesnt give any guidelines as far as needle clip position or fuel/air screw adjustment. I have been reading up on carb tuning, but this will be my first shot at it. Any help would be appreciated. I have been reading up on this forum and figured I might as well join! Thanks in advance!

The 150 or 160 main should be okay but you should not have
to change your clip position. I have not ever heard anything
too good about the HSP pipe but as long as you have it then
the white spring or HSP blue spring is okay for now but later
on you are going to want a complete clutch upgrade and a
better pipe so when you do go with either HPD or RCR and
be sure to get a their pipe and clutch or in other words don't
mix and products with others. These pipes and clutches are
made to complement each other.
Welcome to the forum!!Bye the way!!!
There are alot of ther people who are more than willing and alot
more knowlegable than I, so don't be afraid to ask questions!

Default Trailblazer 250 question

I have noticed that everyone seems to push HPD and RCR more than HSP. I look at it this way though, I got a reasonable deal on a used one ($135) and its probably quite a bit better than stock. The HSP is a good place to start for me either way, maybe the HPD pipe will come sometime down the road. Has anyone owned both pipes to give a good comparison(HSP & HPD)? Is there an advantage/disadvantage to the one piece HSP compared to a multi-piece? talonhawk thanks for the reply.

The HSP pipe is one piece so you're stuck with the loudness of it forever. The RCR, HPD pipes are 2 piece so you can change mufflers and tune the noise to your likings. I think HPD pipe performs better becasue so many people run them and they have dyno charts to prove.

Default Trailblazer 250 question

I have a HSP pipe and I think it works great. I also have the clutch kit that they suggest running with the pipe (I forget what color the spring is). I ran a 150 main jet and in a few months time burned a hole in the piston. I now run a 160 main jet and bike runs fine.

I'm in California and I know there's other factors but I'd go with the bigger jet and then step down if needed.
