I've got a 400 Scrambler,HPD Race ported--39 mm carb--Hpd handmade racepipe--Bike started falling on it's face off the line
Running 93 octane with Klotz at 40:1
We've cleaned tha carb and changed fuel & oil due to the oil stopping up the low speed jet
My brother and I are running the same bikes his runs fine now and mine won't

The only difference in the bikes, is that I'm running a 5 degree timing advance

If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it

Is your scrambler a 2 stroke or a 4?

What compression are you running, you should be running around 108 octane fuel.Your timing is also recommended by HPD to be retarded 2 degrees,or at least stock.Hope this helps.

Does it run fine once you get going? Does it sputter or anything like that?

Weez, I would be willing to bet anything if you put a new belt on it and break it in right it will not bog off the line. You also need the violet primary for the best acceleration. The blue doesnt have enough holeshot for me. Many people have fixed takeoff with a belt.Bubba

Thanks to all you guys!!!!
At this time I don't really know the compression due to running stock head milled.030--I'm having Hotseat head reworked--Will retard the timing
Bike runs fine after about 50ft. carries the wheels the other 150ft
Bubba, I tried the new belt already no luck there, did get a little better launch--I have the full HPD clutch package for race ported motor but would like a better stall speed

I think we found the problem in the float, have fuel coming out one of the vents when you start rolling on the throttle--going to reset float level today--will post results here

Hey Bubba, e-mail me with a phone# if you would--I would like to talk to you about some different ideas and see what you think about them. Also to get an idea on some prices on machine work.

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!!!!!!!
