Looking at a Sportsman 335
I've been looking for an automatic 4x4 quad for my brother in law. He had his foot run over by a fire truck at work a feww weeks ago and will be out of work for about a year. He wanted something that he doesn't have to shift that he can use to get around his property and do some work. My local dealer has a 99 Sportsman 335 for $3200. Are these as reliable as the 500's? Are there any known problem with them? I plan to test ride it this weekend and if everything looks allright, I'll try to get it for $2800 and go as hig as $3000. Is that a good price? I need help, I'm not familiar with these new fangled 4-stroke type things !!

We bought an SP335 back on 2000 and have put maybe 300Miles on it. It doesn't have alot of get up and go but we bought it to plow and it does a mighty fine job too. (2 of my neighbors went out and bought a quad with a plow after watching me. ) It is good for trails but you will not keep up with much due to it's 700lbs and low top end. I don't mind ours till you get on a long wide corridor especially next to our Predator. Then you want more top end, I get 42mph and my lighter wife can get 45mph top end.
They do have a whole Mod package at Highlifter for it but my wife likes it the way it is. I have been told they will go anywhere a SP500 will go buta little slower.
I wouldn't have minded a 500 but we didn't have the extr $1000 in 2000. I do not forsee any plans of getting rid of it at any point in the future. My wife has grown attached to it too.
Again my only complaint is power everything else is top notch!!!!

OK now I'm starting to wonder if there is something wrong with our SP335. Almost every one that has mentioned top speed on one has said close to 50mph. I only weigh 190lbs and Mine would only do 42mph. 50wouldn't be too bad.
