Rocky Mountain ATV RIPOFF!!!!

Just let your friends or family know about this before the same thing happens to you. I agree that probably 7 or 8 times out of 10 things are correct and perfect, but if it is not right, look out because you get nothing for it and they want to bill you for their screw ups! You weigh the outcome and let me know what you think!

Thanks for the info. I made a mental note not to buy anything from them. I have always had a hang up about ordering from companys out of town but I recently did it twice now from high lifter. They got me my 4 mud bug tires and 4 alluminum rims in like 7 days. I was impressed. My dad called me and told me my second order is at his house. That is my progressive lift heavy duty springs for my polaris atv. That got in, in about 6 days. They are friendly on the phone. I have no fear from ordering from them. I ordered 2 fishing items from another company and will see how they do.

In my business I always hope my customers will not judge me by my mistakes, but by how satisfactorily they are corrected. Screw-ups happen and sometimes a small mistake combined with unavoidable circumstances turns a small problem into a big one. It’s how the problem is dealt with that’s important. If all you say about RM ATV is true I’d say you’re getting screwed.
This spring I ordered a new fishing boat and motor from a local family dealership I’d never dealt with before. It wasn’t a huge sale as boats and motors go, about $6000 total. After waiting seven weeks somewhat impatiently for the manufacturer to ship the boat I was finally told it was in. I scheduled my week around picking it up and having a couple days to set it up the way I wanted. When I got to the dealer and was introduced to my new boat it was the WRONG ONE. Right model, wrong hull type. They missed the mistake when it shipped and went ahead and mounted the motor on it and everything. Immediately the owners (husband & wife) dropped what they were doing and started making calls trying to figure out what went wrong and what they could do to correct it. Fifteen minutes after my depressing boatless drive home the phone rang. They’d found my model boat at a dealer that was a 14 hour round-trip drive away and were sending a man to get it the next day. Two days later I not only had my boat, but this one had the more expensive paint job and I got it at the original price. Will I do business with these folks again? You’re damn right I will! Except for the inconvenience I’m 110% satisfied.

I couldnt agree with you more floodrunner! You stated it perfectly. The only thing is RM ATV did not respond in this way, I was talking to one of the ladies there about my problem and she stated that I could talk to the sales manager, so I said ok. He got on the phone and said "what do you need?" First of all that is not a very professional way to answer the phone. After speaking with him for over 5 minutes he kept talking about what it would cost him to ship the tires AIR FREIGHT and how it would not be a good business decision, not only that, QUOTE: "Ground freight is what we will cover, THAT's IT! He would not take the extra step to satisfy a customer he would only try to keep shoving money in HIS pockets.
Bottom line, if he would of came on the phone, addressed the problem correctly, and said "Well I am sorry for your inconvenience, how can we help you out?" Or anything in a polite manner I would probably be fine with that. But after talking to this A$$hole I could care less to ever talk to them again!!

I agree 100%. Screw-ups do happen, but they need to be taken care of in a manner in which the customer is satisfied. RM ATV apparantly has the mentality that they sell so much stuff they do not care to loose a few customers. Looks like it is time to throw the Rocky Mountain ATV Book in the trash!
Update-I just E-mailed them this page and recieved delivery confirmation. Lets give them 1 last chance and see if the try to rectify the situation.

Floodrunner and Garyc are right on. All business make mistakes, it is how they deal with the correction of those mistakes that make the service good. I purchased my first Polaris from a local dealer that was just getting started. I thought I would get better service from them over the big city dealer. Turns out I got worse service. They were supposed to order me a mount kit for a plow and never did. Every time I go in there, their parts "expert" cannot find the parts in their own parts bin. etc. etc. Needless to say, they no longer get my business. The point of this is, if you get bad service somewhere, tell everyone about the experience. On the same token, if you get great service from someone, tell everyone also. I get good service from the folks at Shadetree Outdoors. But I have never had a screw up with them to see how they handle it. Keep posting the results of your struggle with them. They need to make this right or everyone need to hear about it.

Just a couple of months ago, I had an order from Rocky Mountain that was mis-shipped. I had ordered a jersey and they shipped me the youth size instead of the adult size. I immediately called them and they gave me a return number and scheduled UPS to pick up the package at their cost. I taped up the box and also returned goggles because I didn't like the color. A few days later, I had my new jersey and goggles with no problems.
I have ordered from them several times with no problems and good service. You might give them another chance.

I've been reading your post with interest and feel compelled to add my two cents. I've been pursuing a set of new tires for my Grizzly for some time and finally settled on the Titan 589's. Rocky Mountain ATV had the cheapest price by far, but they were out of stock. I called them Friday, the 12th and inquired about how long they would be backordered. They told me three weeks. I asked if the price would go up in that time as I was concerned about their stated price actually matching their website, or their catalog. There was about a $20.00 difference per tire and I wanted to order them at the cheaper price, if I needed to. They told me that the price would not change in the next three weeks. Today (Monday) I checked their website and saw that they had the tires in stock, so I called them to order them. They told me they had them, but when I asked they also told me that the price had gone up. After arguing with them a little bit they agreed to sell them to me for the old price. This is the third time I've ordered from them and so far, so good. If something goes awry I'll be sure to post it here.
Also, talon400, I mentioned this post to them and suggested that they get in touch with you and resolve this issue. It doesn't do them any good, what so ever, to have their name degraded like this in a public forum. They said they would be in contact with you.
