Default Cracked Frame #2

I had just made up my mind to get the Predator, thinking it was going to be trouble free for 03, now I am going to have to wait longer to see if they update the frames for 04.

This sucks. I went back and forth on what machine to buy and I hope I made the right decision. I got my predator last weekend. I'm 6'2" and 220 lbs. I don't really ever jump my machines. Hopefully I won't have any problems it sounds like most the frame problems have been with people who do some jumping.

Take it easy everyone. Now look, of all the guys in the forums that own preds, you are looking at 3 reports of a cracked frame...all were MX racers. Now look at 3 out of who owns the pred, and that is a very small % of owners with cracked frames...less than .5%. I have run several Hare Scrambles, some with decent sized MX section, and I will jump a lot in my spare time for fun, I'm talking 40-50ft. I don't think there needs to be a huge worry about everysingle frame cracking. And if that is the case, polaris has always been quick about sending out any recall needed. Whereas Suzuki never recalled on Z frames, just replace under warranty, or if no warranty...you are SOL! Polaris has never shafted me in the past. Wait till they get aussie's pics, and I bet they will try to make it right with him, and most likely learn from it! But for cross country racers, or aggressive trail riders, I see no need to fear a crack in the frame!

I had decided to buy the predator as well, but now hearing about this problem, I want to wait and see if it is fixed for 04. Anybody know if the 04's models have already been made. Maybe have to wait until 05 for this problem fix?

thanks pudljumper. You set my mind at ease. I pretty much only trail ride mainly clark and jackson county near Black River Falls. And I'm sure I'll be allright with my predator so far I love it. Have a few things on order then, let the games begin.

I honestly think only guys that ride MX, like myself, will have to worry about their frames. MX is brutal on equipment. The average trail rider has nothing to worry about. Just to be safe though, keep an eye on the upper frame rail right in front of the gas tank crossmember.

Thanks for the tip Ruckus, but the thing I think I'll have to worry most about is the two traffic on the trails. Hate seeing someone flying at you around a blind corner with nowhere to go

Well stated Pudl. If people are nervous, fab up a triangulated support of some kind. Javex, you could wait your life away....it's a lot more fun to ride it away.
