Default Cracked Frame #2

After reading aussiequadrider's post about his cracked frame I decided I better check mine. Sure enough on the left side, right in front of the gas tank crossmember there is a crack that goes about 3/4ths of the way around the upper frame tube.

I had been keeping an eye on the upper shock mount area of the frame, thinking that was the most likely area for a crack to occur, I would have never dreamed of it cracking in the middle of the frame.

BTW..like aussiequadrider, my quad has never been wrecked either... just the normal abuse of MX.

Ruckus, sorry to here your bad news.
Yours is the 3rd one that I know of.
Sadly I believe there will be a lot more.
Thankfully you also found it before an accident occured.
Hopefully everyone else are checking theirs.
Let us know how you get on with your dealer.
Does any one know how many have to fracture to instigate a recall?

Good luck for a quick fix, Geoff.

I hate to hear this for you guys. I know the z has suffered from this problem luckily mine hasn't had any problems. I've been racing on a homemade track but nothing like the vigors of a large mx track. Good luck with the fix.

Is this showing up at the front of the gas tank or the back of the gas tank and do you have to remove any plastic to find or see this?

Thanks guys

It was only a matter of time before a big problem started to appear. Just like any other brand, they ALL have weak points. To bad that us polaris owners are going to get ragged on even more. But they really cant talk! Raptor (trans problems) 400ex,z400, and now Polaris (frame cracking). HMM who else? This is something that makes a company better. Finding the mistakes and making the bike better. Hopefully Polaris will address this problem and make it right. I was riding all day today with my friends and told the one that had a Preditor about the frame problem. He laughed! Untill he looked and yep there it was. Needless to say he was 1 unhappy camper. His is still under warranty and he is bringing it to the dealer tomarrow.

This is the first frame I've ever cracked...I guess Polaris wasn't kidding when they said "It'll take your riding to the next level"

I'm taking my quad to my dealer tomarrow to let him look at it, I'll let you guys know how it goes.
