Default PIAA lights on ebay???

Did anybody ever buy from Mr PIAA? He is selling genuine PIAA light kits for ATVs at $60. Sounds like a good deal, just wondering if anybody has had any experience with him.

He's got a lot of good reviews.....I like those lights but isn't that 110W a bit much current draw for the bike?

Actually the lights are only 35wt a piece. They put out what a 55wt light would put out, or at least that is what I understand about the Piaa's. The Scrambler will handle the extra draw. I have 55/65wt bulbs in there right now. But, they aren't working all that great because I had to modify them. Plus, they get too hot for the plastic lense and will eventually melt it. I was thinking that Piaa's would put out enough light.

If they are genuine PIAA's, that's a deal.....but's that if they're genuine.

They say PIAA on the lights and on the switch. Like Rock said, he seems to have good reviews too. I may give it a shot

I bought a set of those a few months on Ebay from that guy and they are a JOKE. They put out as much light as a couple flashilghts *NO JOKE* It wasn't even worth mounting them.

Piaa lights are designed for legal road use. This means the the light beams are clipped so you do not offend on-coming traffic. For off-roadf lighting, you want beams that are not clipped. For a quad, use lights that run MR16 lamps. The MR16 lamps will give full pattern lighting that you need to see good off-road.

I saw those a few weeks ago. I sell piaa lights and kits. Try as I might me or my distributor could not find a matching part # or even a similar looking kit. So I passed. What we did find out twas that Piaa is making a ATV/OHV specific replacement bulb series. It is called the powersports series. The web site has little to nothing on them yet but it sounds like they will be doing the same as there automotive replacement series but built for OHV apps. I run them in all my cars, they are well worth the price of admission. www.piaa.com

You can buy the new PIAA H6M bulb from Yamaha (Extreme White 35watt = 55 watt) for $28 a bulb.

Rider, you saved yourself from not buying the kit on Ebay. They were useless.

I actually went down to Wally World and picked up some 55wt simulated HID driving lights for $40. They work real well.
