The guys are right, notchy when new, but smooooth once it's broken in. Just don't speed shift, and all is fine. Just make sure to follow that 1 hr. break-in oil and filter change, gets all that break-in garb out. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

FARMR, what you heard about the bent fork is correct. In fact, he had pics of it! Like MOD said, it was from speed shifting that caused it. I have yet to have problems with mine, and I do sometimes shift it a little hard!

Pred trannies are very solid, they just don't like to be power shifted. I never do that with my bikes anyway so I couldn't tell a diff. To me 4th and 5th gear felt notchy till broken in, now it's very smooth.

It's the same thing as it not wanting to go into neutral when new. Once broken in, it's very easy. With CAD engineering, and CNC machining, these things can be built sooooo precise.
