My son and I just got back Saturday from a week of riding, it was great, a lot of the bad parts of the trail have been filled in with fresh sand or clay, so very few washouts. If you get near the Valhalla Pub-n-Grub, some of the trails on the steep inclines have been covered in chopped up tree branches, a bit of a rough ride, must be an experiment on controlling erosion or something. It had rained a lot before we got there,so it was packed real nice, no dust, but only takes a day or two to dry out and get pretty dusty. Sorry we can't be there, we had a real fun time, rode the Valhalla loop twice, got a little lost exploring all the side trails and fire roads (carry a trail map, I lost mine !!) but found great trails, a lot of deer, and a few bears ( the big one sat in the path and stared at us for about 30 secs. before moving on !!) If you have been there in the past, the tent catepillars are pretty much all gone, along with the flies that live off them, so it was a lot more pleasant than the last year or two. We have stayed the last 4 years at Tri Lake Timbers, east of town just down fire road 242, nice camp areas, cabins, hookups for RVs, and direct trail access. No matter where you stay, it's hard not to have fun in that area, it is a very nice spot, and my son loves the Open 26, he had to break in his new rear tires hill climbing !!

pub and grub was closed, trails were a blast, that open 26 or whatever its called is fun, hill climbs and stuff, saw much wildlife on the trail, but ,had problems, this was really the first time riding since the dealer put my 530 kit in, i noticed he put stuff together half @ss, one radiator hose wasnt even clamped on,airbox was not clamped on, i fixed them easy, but it would overheat seriously bad, i had to be towed home, it was leaking some coolant from where the hose connects to the head on the left side,i think from the gasket there, but i think the thermostat is messed up or something, i think the radiator is full, but no coolant is going through the engine, so i had a 6 hour round trip and didnt get to ride that much, if its the dealers fault i might just kick him where it hurts the most if you know what i mean

Sorry to hear about your quad, swen, as far as the pub and grub, I was told it is closed Mondays, and doesn't open until after 11 am the rest of the week. Did you get a chance to run up to Old Baldy? it is a lookout point near the northwest side of the Valhalla loop, what a beautiful spot, miles of rolling hills, I bet it is great in the fall with all the color.
