Well as you see I have a Banshee-Piped,coolhead 20cc,FMF torque reeds, boost bottle... No need saying it runs strong. I just picked up a 96 400 Scrambler 4x4 and had to do a few things to get it running right, 1 strut, brakes, air filter, new tires Maxxis SurTrax... I have thought about selling the Banshee because the Scrambler is such fun to ride. It seems to go up anything even creeping up hills is no problem. I got it for the kids but I really enjoy it too. I just hope it stays together for a long time, I hear they are pretty good 4 wheelers so not much to worry about. Now I can't wait to go riding again so I can ride it a little more, I'll let my 9 yr old boy ride the Banshee more.

Nice to be a part of the Polaris Gang.

You're not the only one. My clutch-lovin' brother actually sold his Banshee and bought a 2000 SC400. He was gonna keep both, but after riding the Scrambler a few times and then taking the Banshee back out, he decided he didn't need it at all.

Interesting....I've got a 97 Banshee and have thought about trading/selling and going with the Scrambler 500 but after reading the posts about the 500 gearing I'm a little scared I won't be able to putt. You guys seem to think the gearing is low enough...I need to get a ride on one!!! Thanks for the info

I must have missed something Larry, what are you trying to determine about the 500's gearing?

Well if ya have a Banshee I wouldnt go with the 500 I'd go for a 400 they are 2 strokes. It seems to lug up just about anything. I hear the 500's are nice though, I just like a 2 stroke.

I'm an ex Honda rider and the first time I rode my Scrambler I knew I would never look back. I used to buy into all the crap ever printed about Polaris but they were wrong. And once you wake a Scrambler 400 up with a pipe and clutch work look out! I'm still trying to decide if mine needs anything else, it seems plenty fast now.

You can put with the Scrambler. You just can't put like you would on a pure utility quad. It's really hard to get an idea of the CVT performance without riding one.
