Default Throttle control scrambler 400

Hi, I need a new throttle control for my 1995 scrambler 400. They go for close to 200 bucks at the dealer and I cannot find an after market that is thumb control. I have found one that is off a 1997 polaris sport 400. Does anyone know if this will fit, (or can be made to work on), my scrammy?
Thanks
Dave

I don't know if it will work but I do know that you can get a twist throttle from HPD for $60. This might be an alternative you could consider. Don't know if I helped you much but it is just a thought.

Thanks but I tried a twist and I do a fair amount of tight trails and it was deadly! I have more control with the thumber.

Just a thought to save you some money. Do you still have the twist throttle. I do some racing and was thinking about getting one. PM me if you want to sell it.

No, I am sorry. I no longer have it. But, for racing, it is the way to go. It was just in some "tight" areas I would give it more than I really wanted to.

check out the billet thumb throttle from HPD, it is an awsome piece, adjustable, works on a cam inside and looks great.

If your Scrambler is 4wd, then the Sport throttle will not work as you would have no way to engage dis-engage the 4wd. If it is 2wd, yes it will work. You could possibly make the sport work by drilling holes for the button and running wires, but I don't think I would skimp with the throttle cable. Keep an eye on Ebay, there are always all kinds of parts going through there.
