Default Scrambler 500 4X4 brake problem

I recently bought a 2003 Scrambler 500 4X4. It's a great bike. It only has 10 hours on it. On Friday, I got together with a bunch of my buddies for the first long trail ride. During this trip, the rear brake pedal stuck below the floorboard without me noticing. About 1 mile later, the smoke started pouring out of the rear brakes. When I stopped, the stainless steel brakelines were melted. The whole swingarm was burning up. I have never even used the back brakes before and I must have hit it with my boot. This happened on Friday. I dropped it off to the dealer on Saturday. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? I noticed on all other polaris atvs that the brake pedal stops above the floorboard. Mine actually goes into the floorboard. Needless to say, I had no brakes. It's still under warranty. If the warranty doesn't cover it, I'll drive it through the showroom and chalk it up to bad brakes.
