Do you know if that will include moving the front hubs to the center for the sportsman 400&500s?

Did they fix how the 4wd system engages & disengages? Thats the only thing I don't like about the Polaris. When I put it in 4wd I want it to stay in 4wd until I decide to take it out!!!

here's an update on the 2004 1/2 Sportsmans....they will be offered in RED! 700,600, and 500 models included.

also, they will come with a FACTORY installed 2500lb Warn winch on the special edition models!

dealers are ordering them now.

now that's terrific!

i love RED!!

later,

I doubt Polaris will be changing their 4wd system any time soon, They've been doing it that way for as long as i can remeber. They did something different with a special edition Magnum awhile back though, that had some kind of viscous locking clutch up front.

polaris isn;t changing the whole 4 wheel drive system . just making the 500 front axle like the ,600 and 700 without the hubs hanging out on the end. This is more of a production cost saver ,most likely so they can use the same part in all of them .

Well, Thats too bad. I love the polaris except for that feature. I think they have one of the better quads on the market overall. I just don't like going down steep muddy hills knowing that I don't have 4WD.
