Does anybody know what the gearcase oil is? On the sportsman.

I asked that same question here before after spending 9.99 for a quart to change mine. I never did find out what kind of oil it acually is. If you are changing it,it'll use a full quart.

Polaris sells a non syinthetic trans oil for half the price. We used 30 weight motor oil for years and got along fine. I found that tractor gear and hydraulic oil works good in my Harleys primary. Price on some oils seems kind of high but thankfully they dont use much. One quart in a yearly change dosen't amount to much.

I used MOBIL 1 gear lube in my 500 scrambler . It is synthetic gear lube 75w90 I think that is the correct wieght . I got it for around six dollars a quart. It took a quart to fill the trans.
