has anyone put an hpd steering dampener on a 2000 sportsman 500...my dad has one on his 99 but hpd doesn't list them for a 2000....i looked and compared the 2000 to the 99 in that area were the dampener goes and didn't see any mojor changes....does anyone know if polaris made any changes to the steering in this area? thanks for the help

 

how does he like the dampener? I have a 2000 Sportsman and thought of adding one to mine too. I doubt there is much of a change if any. but i am not sure, I would give the dealer a buzz.

 

he really likes the dampener...i have riden both... his with the dampener and mine the 2000 w/o over the same terrain and there is a world of difference...that's why i want ot put one on mine...take alot of the kick out of the handle bars esp. on trails where there are rocks...i'll have to call the dealer and see if there were any differences but i don't think there is...think i'll just order on up and try to put it on.
