I'm not really good with the 4wd stuff but we are getting a 4wd ATV in the fall...so what would be best...limited slip or differential??, and would full-time 4wd or part-time 4wd be good??

All I can say in answer to your question is .... do your homework! Check out the machines you're interested in. Decide what you are going to use the machine for and choose the machine that will do what you need done, best.
No one can make that decision for you. Your on your own. Make a wise and informed choice and ultimately you will be happy with that choice.

Maybe we should think about it like this. the humm-v is better then our atv's. Imagine going back in time to when atv's did not exist. Now think about your atv that you have or any atv you are thinking about buying. They are pretty fantastic machines. from the smallest/weakest to the real big ones. what they can do is amazing! Plus we buy things to make them even perform beyond stock, like with larger tires and all that.
looking at it like this, can make each of us less critical of any atv. They sure do get into and out of A L O T! rangerchet

Dont take this wrong but you have no idea how much time i have spent on a polaris. I have ridden my friends magnum extensivley. I will agree that polaris's system performs better in deep mud and on rocks. But on the trails i ride the system is difficult to steer (compared to mine) and it seems to go in and out all the time creating in my opinion eratic handeling. There are some areas where it performs better but for me and my rideing style it is not best.
