Default Lift Kits?

I have an 01 Sportsman 500 HO and would like to add a lift kit. Just lately I installed 26" Mud Bugs and they work great the only problem is they rub the front fender after hitting a fairly small bump. I've heard of problems when lifting 2" or more because the front cv's explode especially when reversing and turning the bars lock to lock. I would like to hear from the listers regarding their experience with their lift kits, what brands, how they differ, or even home made kits.
Thanks

I don't know??? I think they used them as spacers or something? Im not to sure, I just remember reading that somewhere. BTW, how do you get it to say "Originally posted by: BigBadScrambler" when you do a quote??? Everytime I do a quote it just does the quote, it doesn't say who it is from???

Here is what I have just completed. I had a set to HD springs from my departed 98 Sportsman and after checking the stock part numbers of the 98 Vs 01 I find they are still the same. So I replaced the stock springs with the HD springs also I cut a hockey puck in half to make 2 1/2" spacers, which I installed under the HD springs. The before measurement to my roller fairlead was 19 3/8", now that measurement is 20 3/8" a 1" increase. Perfect!
All I need now is time for a test ride.
Thanks for all your help.
