Is it a concentric drive??? This might make a difference where it is mounted.

yes mine is concentric drive..i had to cut off the metal mount for the chain guard and it seems to line up somewhat close...the directions say to install it right behind the cross member, just not sure how far back it should be

Hey, I got close up pictures on my site of where it should go on the concentric drive scramblers. It should give you an idea. Also, I had to use some washers for spacers and space the mounting bracket about 1/8th" away from the swingarm cuz the chain was hitting the bolt for the spring. Also, I had to grind down the spacer for the roller to get the chain in the middle. If you take off the roller, it makes it easier to mount the bracket. Hope this helps

I just installed mine today, but I got it from RCR. I disconnected the spring from the roller so there would be no tension while I aligned it. Made it alot easier. Move the tensioner too far forward and the chain will ride on the outside of the roller. Move it too far back and the chain will rub the spring. Align it without the spring attached and you'll be good to go.

To add to this, make sure that the chain is centered more to
the outside of the wheel and not dead center. I have one on
my 99 and had one on a 00 TB. The chain rubbed away the
grease fitting for the wheel on the 99 so on the 00 I moved
the tensioner just alittle further back on the swing arm.

There are 2 different tensioners .

# Atvct ----> fits pre concentric drive quads .

#Atvctc ----> fits all concentric drive models .

Note this ---> tensioners for pre concentric are a Silver colored plating , tensioners for concentric drive models have a GOLD colored plating on the mount plate .
