Use or lose the airbox lid - Scrambler 400?

I know you can get a little gain by increasing airflow on 4-strokes, but is the same thing true on 2-strokes. I'm wondering if removing the lid on my wife's Scrambler and rejetting will give any noticable gains. If so, how big a jump on main jet size. I'm guessing 1-2 sizes. Thanks!

I know that on a 2 stroke trailblazer (250) if u take the lid off ull get some better performance but if u just take the entire airbox off and put a precharger on the filter ull get a big boost in performance....as far as the jets i have no clue

if you want to keep the airbox,a better air filter like a k&n will do
the boost you're talking about, removed the lid affect performance cauze
the airbox is built to flow an amount of air to keep the motor in the peak rpm,a hole will do the same thing as the airbox pressure is lost so
the powerband will be flat holed through.
