Default 250cc scrambler for son?

My brother has recommended a Polaris Scrambler 250cc for my 11 yr old son. He has never owned one so I'm looking for input from riders and/or owners of this type? My son is a beginner rider and I am looking at power, handlebility (if thats a word? lol) and of course cost? Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions very much welcomed..thanks.

Well for your info Polaris does not make a 250cc scrambler but they do however make a 250cc Trailblazer. It is a great beginner quad that can grow with the rider. Tons of mods for the future but over all very dependable, comfortable and handles trails great. I would say it is the best beginner quad out now. A Yamaha blaster is to high strung and can easily be outgrown because of its size. You cant beat the trailblazer for price and overall performance.

I second what 2manytoys said. I had 2 TB's awhile back but now
the boys are into dirt bikes. I still have my 99 TB.

My 11 year old son rides a 03' Trailblazer 250. It is his first quad. He has had it for almost a year. He's doing really well on it. We rode 2 up until I felt comfortable the he could handle most situations on his own. It's automatic with reverse and also very stable. It is a little heavy but he handles it just fine. If you have any more questions pm me.
