I've been running oil from polaris maybe come cheep stuff mixed in once. But I was wondering if it really matters what type I use. I've heard some say never never off brand but I'm guessing thats not true.

i don't think off brands are all bad, maybe some better than others. i run amsoil racing 2-stroke oil in my scrambler and every other 2-stroke i own with good results. i think the best thing to do is see what other people are running, do a little research and choose one that you feel comfortable with. anything that has an engine in it gets amsoil in my garage but that's my preference. alot of people that i've seen talk on this discusion like the polaris synthetic. i'm sure if you do a search in the forum you'll find more topics on the subject. hope this helps

Stay with Snythetic. Cleaning burning, less white smoke and overall better.

Amsoil 2 cycle injector oil. Cheaper than Synthetic Gold and just as good. Some say that the Polaris blue works great too.

Amsoil here also. For how little the quads use, cost shouldn't be an issue.

i use polaris brand, but i'm still under warranty. just in case something happens, one less thing for them to argue about. like they've said, they don't use that much, but it's worth the piece of mind using polaris brand. whatever you choose, stay with that brand and don't switch around.

Warranty isn't an issue and there isn't any peace of mind with Polaris oil. It's not like they make it - they just buy it from someone else (probably the low bidder) and have their label stuck on it.

Amsoil all the way. Although I used Havoline two stroke mix from the auto parts store for YEARS with no trouble.
