A few months back there was an excellent discussion in which someone posted all the model changes on the Scrambler 500 between 1999 to 2003. I'm interested in purchasing a used Scrambler and this would be very helpful information in determining which year is best to purchase. I would appreciate any help on this subject.

I would advise getting the newest you can as well. Try and get something 2001 or newer cuz they got the stainless steel brake lines as well as a few other steering upgrades. 02 didn't change much from 01. 03 got the new clutch cover with the drain plug. But other than that and some minuscule changes, they are all pretty good, but try to get at least an 01.
