Default Cleaning new chains

What is everone using to clean your brand new O-ring chain before you put it on? You know how they have them packed and they are a greasey slimy mess just waiting to act like a magnet to gather all the sand and dirt they can find, but you don't want to start off shortening the life of your new $80.00 chain by using the wrong stuff to clean it with. Thanks your for input,
Hillclinber

When I put mine on I gave it a good shot of Tri-Flow with teflon. To clean it I bought a Uneek Chain scrubber from Rocky MT ATV. It works AWSOME!!! And it comes with the sludge away cleaner. I have also heard of people using kerosene

Actually, since switching to Tri-Flow, I don't think I've had to clean my chain. Everything just slides right off....just like your teflon coated frying pans, it's no stick baby!!!

I use teflon on mine after I have it on but what about cleaning off the crap the factory puts on the chain when you get it out of the box?
