Clutch buttons destroyed! What would cause this?
#1
When I put the HPD clutch kit on my 400 I noticed the secondary clutch buttons were in pieces. What would cause this? I have less than 100 hours on the quad. I like jumping. Could that be part of the problem?

Jumping, alot of hard take offs, and wheelies. The stock buttons are not all that strong and when you mod the quad they wear even quicker. You can get heavy duty buttons pretty cheap or a roller secondary will completely eliminate the buttons and give you much smoother, quicker shift. The 400 can produce some really strong torque with gobs of hp. Dont get discouraged. This all comes with the mods. But once you fix the weak points the quad will be very reliable.

Thanks for your help 2manytoys. I'm not frustrated. I'm just glad I caught it when I did. don't see the heavy duty buttons HPD site any more. Does anyone else make stronger buttons?
