Scrambler 500 4x4 or grizzly
I am getting ready to trade my 2002 raptor in for a 4x4. I thought I was going to get the 700 twin prarie but I just can't get over how UGLY that thing is. I like the yam wolverine but it seems to be underpowered. I've ridden a grizzly and it does pull strong but It seems that the scrambler would give me the best of both worlds 4x4/sport..How does the scrambler compare??? Thanks

Hi there,
I own a 2002 Scrambler 500 4x4. I love it. I ride it hard and it takes me where I want with surprising comfort and great power. A friend I ride with has a 2003 Grizzly. Great machine as well. You will not go wrong with either machine. If you ride on smooth terrain, go with the Scrambler. If you ride rugged (rocky) terrain, go with the Grizzly based on it's higher ground clearance.

The Prairie 650 is not the sportiest looking machine out there but I tried it and the power is awesome. It would be a better compromise than the Grizz as it has a solid rear axel which makes it very solid for cornering. If power is your main concern, the Prairie 650 takes top honours, followed by the Scrambler. The Grizz is third. Another advice, if you ride your machine in winter, be aware that the Grizz does not start well in cold weather... Being from Illinois, this could be a very frustrating problem for you.

Hi,
My buddy just bought a 2004 scrammy..he really likes it alot...i rode it...it was decent quad...not the most power..or speed..but they are a overall good quad..(cept the belt gets wet in every hole)..the Prarie 650 or 700 would be the quad i would look into...the rincon is a great machine too..i have 330 hours and never had trouble with it yet..my buddy has a rincon with 5000 miles and never had trouble yet ..but i really like my vforce...and i would sure love to put that power in my 4x4..so i would saylook into the 700prarie..good luck with you choice!!!
Cheers

The scrammy is probably going to fit your ticket....as far as looks go, there's no comparison amongst the utes/4x4 crowd for looking and riding sporty. The other rides may have bigger engines and higher ground clearance but I've yet to have to take a different route that the Grizz, SP500 and Kodiak I usually ride with...sure I don't hit all the big mudhole they do but outside of 10" ruts in mud I'll go anywhere they will.....except faster!
The Grizz is a good ride, lots of power and pretty comfy but it has that gas boiling problem and I just don't feel right on something without a swingarm....never ridden a Prairie but like you said, it's not the prettiest looking "sport" machine.
Look at the Sportsman lineup....from what I here the 600 is the best bang for the buck....
