Default Predator 500 Rear Bearing Seals Shot

I was changing the rear brakes on my quad and noticed that the green seals on either side of my swing arm were popped out. Upon getting the rear tires up off the ground there is about 2 or 3 inches of lateral <side to side> travel on the whole rear end. So I am figuring the bearings are shot ... there isn't any grinding noise coming from the bearings. So with that being the case could it just be the seals that are out instead. Has anyone esle had this problem and if so how much was the fix ... shop rate or FIY.

I had the same issue. I thought for sure the bearing were shot. I was told because the movement was only horizontal, tighten the axle bolt. (on the right side). I did it and it worked. I was also told it might have loosened begause of improper spring tension or too soft a setting on the rear shock. Hope this helps.
