Default Is it time to change brands?

Ask around, the local dealers were asked to take large sled orders....product way above and beyond their normal orders. Sno-checks are being honored, but additional orders aren't. Possible tapering down of the local Polaris dealer to make super-sized factory stores. Wanna have to drive an hour or two to get to a dealer. Maybe I've been spoiled (my dealer is 5 mins away) but my local guys have been beyond great to me. Whatevery they're selling.....that's what I'm buying. I hope this doesn't come true. I hope I'm wrong.

Modquad how can you speak such blasphamy? lol I hope your wrong too. But Polaris is a business and there is only one thing that matters in business.................THE BOTTOM LINE. At least they aren't talking about moving to China like a lot of American companies.

Yea, I know that very well, (laid off airline employee) but call me a redneck loyalist. There's still something to that personal touch only a local owned business can provide. Maybe sometimes it's just that little extra gabbing about "how's the family", but isn't that what this country is built on. I don't know any lumberjacks personally, so Home Depot and Menard's are fine for home improvement, but cutting a long time family owned business, that's where it's hits too close to home. Like I said before, I hope I'm wrong....or hope if that was the plan, that maybe someone reconsiders. Not that they're not fine machines....I just don't want to HAVE TO have red or blue in my shop.

I doubt that is true. They are selling plenty of atvs and snowmobiles. Probably better they sent out bigger orders of sleds cause every year they sell out of them so quickly, and it takes a while to get another big shipment. BTW my dealer thats like 10 minutes away sells the most polaris products then anywhere else in the U.S.

i dont mean to be a trader, but im 16 years old , i had a 250 tb but sold it and bought a brand new suzuki z400 three days ago and i really love it alot. but my freind and cuz+uncle still have there polaris's, dont get me wrong i still love them but i thought it was time to move on, or a change. and polaris has nothin new out. but so far i made a great decision for a z400, its got everything i want.but performance wise i like the z400 alot better than the 250 or the scrambler, only thing im missing out on now is the mud. but good luck with your bikes and have fun

Uh, Lightman, Polaris has nothing new? You need to get out more.

AK, it's a matter of telling (as opposed to asking) dealers to take 3 times the number of sleds they're willing to order. If they don't go along with it, they're order, even if it's 100 sleds, is being turned down. Sure, a Polaris "Super Center" sounds cool, and the corporation will have nice liquidation avenues, and ultimate price (profit) controls, but where's the tradition? It's tossed out the window. Where's the long time loyalty which families have invested into their business for years. It's out the window also. Believe me, I'm the one clicking my heals and saying "there's no place like home". Toto could have all his fir burned in this one.

Modquad, I understand where your coming from. A lot of people took a gamble and started Polaris dealerships not knowing the future of Polaris ATVs. Polaris needs to show some loyalty to the people who made the company what it is today.

happened to a guy around here on long island. dealer "claimed" polaris made him take 2 or 3 times the amount of orders on everything quads, jet skis and even snowmobiles. neverless all the rest of the merchandise was auctioned off. does not have too much effect on us here there are at least 15 to 20 dealers within an hour or so. but i did hear polaris was doing this to dealers, is it true who knows??????

uh modquad, you need to get out more and look on there website do you see anything new?NO!! exactly, what the atp?. and i was willing to pay thousands more to get 4 times the better bike, and i also meant the 400 tb, if you also read i said scrambler too. nothin wrong with a change. it would be nice if polaris changed there looks on the bikes, and came out with some new ones. i bet you if they put a better gearbox on the pred and put reverse on it, the sales on the pred would go up half more than it is right now. sorry if i pissed you guys, really.
