Coolants leaks

Default Coolants leaks

i have a coolants leak someone b/c i always have to add to reseve never get to the bottom just at the low mark,never rides hot and i havn't seen any bubbleing from the head gasket could it be a hose?

If you have a 2 stroke,make sure you check the counterbalancer your coolant may be going there.

I had a small leak and couldn't pin point the area. I finally did and it turned out to be the petcock for the radiator was leaking. I took the old one off and went down to Carquest and picked up a new one for a few bucks. But like CED said, if you have the 400 it could definately be your counterbalance

why would it be in my counterbalance oil, and how does it get in their since i have no signs of a head gasket bad.

It gets in there form the seal that sists back to back with each other on the shaft of the counterbalancer.On one side there is a seal that is suppose to keep the water in and on the other side is a seal that keeps the counter balance oil in.The water pump impeller is actually on the end of the counterbalance shaft.The head gasket has nothing to do with the water getting into the counterbalance area.Hope this helps.
