Hello everyone,
I'm new here but im glad i found a board for polaris stuff. I have a trailblazer 250 and i just bought a scrambler 400 2x4. The 250 is all stock and i just did an hpd trailpipe and jetting and thier extreme clutch kit. Very fun quad now. Well, anyway, we all went riding up in ny state on sunday. I have a friend with an ltz400 who kept talking trash. so we raced once and i had him the first 150 ft. Then he challenged me to race him on the motorcross track.
I left him out of the whole and he was behind me the whole time......Until i screwed up a corner and went flying over a berm. Then i got run over my him cause he couldnt stop in time lol. Well come to find out i haed slight head injury cause i was unconcious for a while and i broke two vertibrae in my lower back. Not to worry though, i can still move and feel everything so ill be back riding soon. Just wanted to say hi and maybe ask everyone what stuff they have done to thier quads and what companies and products they have had the best experiences with.
Glad to meet you guys and i look forward to a good future of exchanging ideas and making all our quads better.
Thanks
Matt Lee

Welcome to the forums. There is a lot of great useful imformation to be found here. Glad to hear that you came out of that accident OK and ready to go again As for companies to deal with regarding Polaris ATV's, there are a few. You already are on the right track with the HPD stuff. There is also RCR. Rick Ritter is top notch when it comes to Polaris performance has has the best customer service out there. You will find nothing but positive remarks regarding him. There is alsp Hot Seat performance HSP as well as Aaen permance. HPD and RCR are what people seem to like the best for performance parts. HPD has kits for the 400 scrmablers and sports that are capable of over 85HP. Aaen has some good kits too, some good stuff for us 4 stroke guys too. HSP has a lot of good suspension and body parts, as well as performance parts.

Hi Milk:
Yes, this forum is great! I have learned more in the search engine in the last two weeks than I have in the last five years of owning my Polaris. I am a computer operator by day but may end up a pretty good home ATV mechanic if I can stop breaking two things in the process of fixing one.
I have an old L1 injury (lower back) from a bad accident. I have determined that an ATV is probably the worst thing you can do to a lower back but I just can't stop lovin' the fun. If your problem with your back is in the same area, a belt called "The Back Saver" works well while riding and gives you a little protection. As far as the pain goes...It will probably haunt you for the remainder of your days. I know mine does and its been 5 years now.

Guess what. The sdame exact thing happened to me last year.
I went to Little Sahara, OK last May 2002 and was racing a Honda ATV 250R and was schooling bad on my Scram 400 2x4 when I flew off a 40 ft sand dune. Never saw it. I sailed 120 ft forward and fell 40ft.
It broke my back in 3 spots, blowing off 50% of one the bones and blew 4 discs. I luckily didn't have surgery, but they tried to get me to have surgery.
I lost 70 lbs. and had to wear a back brace for 6 months. It took forever to be able to walk again. But finally after working out and walking for hours a day, I seemed to have pulled out.
Obviously, I have slowed down and have rode my Scram one time since, scared to death.
Take it easy and make sure you heal COMPLETELY before doing anything!
