Rear Brake problems…
I'm not sure about the screw unless I'm looking at it but you will want to put a shop rag or a pan under the bleeder to collect the spent brake fluid (located at the rear brake housing). Use any DOT 3 brake fluid from Autozone or somewhere. You can get DOT 3 fluid from your dealer but it will cost more and it is the same stuff. You will not need a kit if you do this with another person.
If you can't determine which screw goes to the rear brake bleeder then follow the brake line and choose the one that you need to unscrew. Usually, it is best to bleed both the rear and master since you are there. Brake fluid is only good for a year or so. Be sure that you are loosening the correct screw. It will be a very small nut closest to the end. If you loosen the one closer to the assembely, you are in a hurt locker. That one is cranked on at the factory with some kind of lock-tite and usually needs to be completely replaced if you break the thread.
I think you bleed the brake line furthest from the master 1st, then the ones closest. If I am wrong on that, someone please post otherwise. Its been a while and I don't have my manual here with me.

Rear Brake problems…
the seal between the two cylinders (in the caliper) is experiencing blow by. (seal no good)
In otherwords when you step on the brake,,,,some of that fluid (from the rear brake assembly) leaks over to the hand brake side.
If I am right you should be able to squeeze the hand lever and press the foot lever and be able to feel connected (if you press one harder you will feel the pressure in the other lever)
I have the same problem with my 02 scram,,,,,,I just use both levers to get the rears to hold a little better.
Can you set your e-brake overnight,,,and have it still working in the morning?

I dont know about the newer models but mine is a 98, and that foot valve is JUNK! Bleed, bleed, bleed, bleed! Mine is drawing air in and leaking fluid around the plunger. Swapped with another used one- same thing. Have they improved this master cyl. in 03 or 04? Dosent AAEN make some sort of handlebar rear brake? Or is this just a divider? I love my Scrammys but, Man these brakes!

Rear Brake problems…
Hope this Helps you guys...
Had the exact same problem on both a 2002 tb 250 and 2003 tb 400. On the 250 it wasn't as noticeable, it would hold for a day or two, but the 400 just would not stay firm. Totally removed the bleeder valve and noticed that it was cracked straight up both sides. Saw that and looked at the 250's valve ... same thing but not as bad.
Looks like they were over torquing on install from the factory. Try replacing your bleed valve. After I did that , no problems.
