Being an auto tech, I know of a place in town that specializes in CV axles, and they can probably match up a boot for a lot less than you'll pay at the dealer. You might want to see if there's a shop like this in your area. Here it's called CV Joint Services.

I recently took my axle out and was wondering how to disassemble the CV joint itself. Doing a thorough cleaning would be nice next time. This internal snap ring--is it behind the ring that holds the axle to the joint? With all the grease, I suppose I could have easily missed it, but I would like to know how to take it apart next time.
