I own a 1997 Polaris sport 400 2wd and ever since i bought i have had nothing but trouble with it,
dont get me wrong when its running good its real fast and real fun but is seems like everytime
i ride it something breaks and i dont even ride it that hard.

First it was the carburator, then the anti-freeze throddle, now its the fan, im just wondering it i should just fix it sell it and get a honda or yamaha. Any recomendations?

I've also got a 97 Sport 400. I've had some things go wrong with it, but none of them were because of the machine. All of mine were because either I was an idiot, or the dealer working on it was an idiot. First, I had to have the transmission fixed because the dealer tightened the chain too tight and I didn't notice and it tore up the tranny. Second, I had moved out of my parents place and couldn't ride for a long time. Then, when I did go ride, it didn't run for crap. Turns out that sitting so long had gummed up the carb. Don't know if you got a lemon or what, but that's all that's ever happened to mine and I ride hard. Probably too hard (If that's possible). But it's been a great machine and I have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.

Hey might be left overs from the yahoo you bought it from. Most sports I have been around have been better than the scrammys and I think overall mine has been pretty tough.

Mine breaks down a lot but I run the crap out of it. My other brands did the same.

i hit a tree and thats how my axle broke, but i dont really hit trees with the front tires so its not from that,
i think its more from rocks in the trail, and im not talking slamming off big rocks..like i said i ride extreamly hard..85% of the time i have the throttle pinned,i ride with 400ex's,banshees,warriors,and none of them can stay anywhere near me and im the rookie rider..

how did i know?lol well lest see for the upper stearing bushing i could take my handlebars and move them back and fourth about 1/2 inch,as for the tie-rod ends i could turn my handle bars about a inch before the tires moved, and for the swingarm bushings i seen them moving up and down..
