sp 600 coolant leak
#1
my sp 600 has a puddle of coolant under it after 550 miles...appeared to be coming from hose going into water pump from the
radiator, but after tightening the clamp and washing the area, I found it is dripping from the small "weep" hole at the bottom
of the water pump housing.I was told it had an inner seal leaking, and that it is a couple of hour job as the whole case
cover had to be removed to replace the seal. Has anyone ever heard of this??? I'm taking it in to my dealer tommorrow
and hopefully it will be covered under warranty!!! I've owned it exactly 6 mths on 11/1, so it is barely out...

Yup had the same problem on my 500 after about 9 months so was out warranty. There is what they call a mechanical seal inside that needs a special puller to remove as not to bend the shaft. It is a too common thing if you do a search on here should find more on it. May have to go back a ways. Cost me about 80$ for whole thing,

I had a repair that was two weeks out of waruntee and my dealer called Polaris and got it approved. They normally are flexible for about a month after the expiration date.

I had the exact same thing happen to me and warrenty covered it---I was still in the 6 months---this is a very common problem & I was told that Polaris had a service bulletin on this, so you should ask your dealer about this being a recall.

well I took it in yesterday, and my dealer said they would fix it under warranty. In fact they didn't even suggest that I would
have to pay for it. It was almost like they weren't suprised that it was leaking. Sounds like they have to take the rh case cover
completely off to replace some seal in there...about a 2 hour job he said. Makes me really wonder if I should have bought
the extended warranty????

My 03 700 is in the shop now having the fan and waterpump seal replaced under extended warranty. I bought it last December and it has 1,500 miles on it. I had both of them replaced on my HO at about the same miles (also ext. warranty).
