500 Scrambler
#1
For anyone that owns a 500 Scrambler! I just want to know how the handle and what the performance is like(what other atv are they equal to). Are the good jumpers? Are they fast? How fast? Are the quick out of the hole? Can you wheelie them? I have owned a Blaster and riden a Kodiak. Are they like a combination of both of these units, less the need to shift gears? And in your own opinions, how do you feel about belt drive full automatic ride of the Scrambler. I would like to ride one but they have a heck of a time keeping them in stock around my area. Your input is really appreciated!
Thankyou.
Thankyou.

redhot. the bike is awesome. it will run with most anything. the only downfall of them is the weight. very heavy. it don't hold them back in any means though. they are snappy. you can wheelie them very easy. top speed is around 70. modifying them although is on the step side compared to the 400 2 stroke. i got an supertrapp ids II, bored out 10 over, wiseco piston,kn,racing cam shaft, all new seals, hole shots and itp .190's on my 2000. it runs great. great overall machine

Have a 00 Scrambler 500 and a 96 Sport 400.. Just got done with a complete rebuild of the Sport, broke a piston skirt, taking it out tonite for the breakin.. Love the 500 and your right it's heavy. Only time it feels heavy is when you get it stuck. Do mostly trail riding and was surprised at how easy it tis to throw around. I should say I'm 6' 235 lbs. I guess it comes down to whether you want 2 stroke or 4. Ride with a guy that has 2 400 scramblers and he has more than once burned a piston out on the trail. Me I'd buy the 500 again and again.

I thought I wanted a 400 also until I rode my brother's. After some modifications, it now feels very similar to a Banshee to me. Its an all or nothing feel. His wil outrun my 500 even though I've put more money in mine, but I think mine is way better in the trails. Its all about what you like, 4-stroke torque or 2-stroke power.
