plowing with trail blazer 250 jetting Q..
#1
well i got a plow for my trail blazer 250 from a guy at a yard sale for 10.00 and i just made a mounting bracket but i am worried about the added stress the snow is going to put on the moter so i want to make sure i am ok with the jets that are in the carb the snow around here rarely gets more than 4 inches deep at a time so i think it has the power stock just dont want to blow a piston...oh yea it has the stock jets in it now what ever they are i would say it will be around 20 or so degrees while i am plowing..

You never want to go full open throttle in the winter. If you want to be safe then change the stock 130 main to a 140-145 main. Then you will be ok. The factory jets them a little rich anyways but 2 strokes are very fragile in the winter.

Two strokes are not very fragile! They are finiky not fragile. Until last year every snowmobile in america was a two stroke and 95% of the new ones still are. If you are running in cold weather you will want to rejet your carbs for the temps. You will find that the two stroke will actually tend to be easier to start in the cold then a four stroke. The cold weather leans out the fuel mixture so you tend to run hot so you need to fatten up the jetting to match the cold weather. Check your owners manual for the a jetting chart. I know Polaris puts one on every snowmobile but I am not sure about the quads. I am new to the ATV world but have run sleds for years I know the two stroke. Jay
