clutch kit,worth it?

A clutch kit makes a huge difference. It's a good idea to get a new pipe when you clutch but if you don't have the cash or whatever reason the kit is still very nice. It will help big time on the acceleration and off the line.

You can do it yourself, if you take your time. If you've never worked on one before, what you could do is talk to your dealer (always a great idea to get to know your techs) and ask them if you could watch them install the clutch kit on your secondary clutch. I would suggest getting the primary and secondary clutch pullers, and remove the secondary yourself. You can mod the primary yourself, just a simple "put it back together the way it came off". The secondary requires you to be a little careful w/wound up spring tensions.

If the clutch kits improve performance so much, then why doesn't Polaris put a better clutch kit on their machines? It's not like we're talking about some high dollar, aftermarket performance stuff. Is there a drawback somewhere? Reliability perhaps?

The clutch kit for the scramblers will make the clutch engage around 2200 RPMs. Now that is better if you want faster launches and want to do wheelies. However, for a stock machine, that is too high. Not to mention, clutch kits work better if they are taylored to the pipe. Meaning, that they will keep the engine in the RPM range where the pipe makes its power
