Sorry to hear that scott88 . I hope you get better. I'll pray for you.
Let these stories be a leason for all of us. Maybe we all should think about safety a bit more when we ride but, it's hard to think of when we rip up the woods.
one more thing, scott88, don't give up the fight!! you need to get back on that thing as soon as your o.k.
wipe-outs suck and they put the fear in all of us,It takes time to get over it BUT, if you recover I know that you'll get over it a bit.
GOOD LUCK DUDE

Jumped My bike off a 70 foot highwall that I always did before, but this time When I went off the top and landed about 20 feet from the bottom, there was a log across the trail, hit it, fell to my left side and with the bike on top of me skidded down the rest of the hill ramming my left shoulder and arm into a tree root.
I broke My humerous bone, also broke the ball on top into 12 pieces (that goes into your rotating cup) fractured elbow and rotater cup itself also. Went in for surgery and doctors said there was no way they could fix it without putting in artificial joints. BUT they sewed the ball (all 12 pieces of it) back together with live cartilage to keep the bone living, then installed a bunch of 10 inch steel rods up through My humerous bone into the ball itself to keep it on there, kinda like a ice cream cone. the rods stuck out of my arm about 6 inches for 2 months. When it was time for them to come out, They hooked up a 12 volt cordless drill and drilled them out right through the skin.. oUCH. 6 months of Physical therapy, and now 2 years later I have A good portion of movemnt back. My hand hurts like hell because of nerve damage sometimes, I cant straighten my arm all the way out, and it occasionally gives out.
BUT theres no way in Hell I would have sold My bike.. I was back riding in cast.
