Default reasonable/best OTD price on 04 700 sportsman?

I am buying a new 700 in the next week or so-waiting for a couple of dealers to quote me the best cash price they'll take. Anyone know where to find out dealer's cost?

Thank You,
Howard

Price varies greatly on the areas around the country. The Polaris machines seem to be a few hundred $$ less in MN than the rest of the country due to the reduced shipping cost associated with the close proximity to the factory. In Texas, a fair price for a 700 would be around $6900 to $7100 before taxes. Add $400 for the MossyOak edition. Good luck and enjoy your machine. I have had a Sportsman since June 2001 and love the machine and it's capabilities. I wished we got snow because it would fun to do some plowing with the ATV.

PS. Let me know if you need some help killing some of those pheasants.

What would the dealer cost matter? And why should that be public knowledge? The dealer should be able to make a decent profit or else they wouldn't be able to stay in business. I agree some dealers aren't worth the money you pay them but some are. Look around. The dealers in my area that charge a litte more usually give way better service and stock more parts. I think about that every time I'm out riding. Plus the guys I deal with (Sport Rider) are really friendly. I can go in and just hang out if I want and don't feel pressured to buy anything.

A dealer in Rhode Island quoted me a price of $7100 over the phone for the 700. You should really go to ATV Price and purchase the dealer invoice report. It will tell you how much the dealer paid for the bike. They also give you a "ready to sell" price that includes the assembly cost for the dealer. 5% over the ready to sell price (excluding tax) is fair in my opinion, especially if you are paying cash, but you might not be able to find a dealer who'll sell for that price. The invoice report is worth the $12.99 because it lets you know exactly how much money the dealer is making off of you.

if you are in the west then Polaris/Suzuki of Cheyenne (as in Wyoming) is the best... if you are in the east, it's the Polaris dealer of Chattanooga, TN.
