Gold Starters on Ebay??
#3
The part # on the starter is the same # as other places I've gotten starters from (ie. same manufacturer???) It's $10 cheaper than a "non gold" starter also listed - the only difference is the gold starter has a grease zerk added and painted gold.
I'd be willing to bet its a decent starter, and by the time you pay $50 for a REBUILD kit and count your labor and the gamble you don't have anything else wrong with a starter (like weak windings, or the imfamous worn "teeth") - it would be money ahead to buy a new starter.
