I have the same sled them triples don't make too much low end power. mine has no low end what so ever but when it hits like 5500-6000 rpm you better be holding on. mines pretty much stock eccept pipes and clutch sring and weights.

you could chane when it engages by what sring you have in it. the weaker the spring the lower rpm it will engage

Congrats on the new ride. My new sled and previous sleds engage at high Rpms. I dont know the science behind it. You should go out and get a new belt and put it on before you go anywhere. Always carry a spare. You dont want to be pushing that back to your house. As for the seat I would just put on some tape to save yourself 400 bucks.

Tips 1- carry spare belt
2- spare plugs
3- starter strap
4-Most important Ride safe
Good deal , Have fun 2000IAWarrior

You will have to change the spring out. They are not to expensive from the dealer or you could go through EPI or Hot Seat. I will see if I can hook you up with the spec springs. That is the 580 engine right? Or did the specials have the 600 engine that year? I have a 95 special that I long tracked and put in a nice EPI clutch kit. It moves pretty good for almost 10 years old. Its my wifes sled, I ride a 2002 XC 600 114 mad horses! I love my sled. Jay

True, But you want that thing to grab that belt quickly so it wont burn it up.
