Default scrambler help

ok...i have a 99 scrambler 400...and everytime i try to start it electrically, it just makes some clicking sound. I went and bought a new battery, but it still won't start; but it will with the recoil handle. I just went mudding about three weeks ago and didn't wash it for probably two weeks...just letting yall know incase that might be it. Anyway, just some ideas on what the starting problem could be.

THe starters on these are prone to failure when put in contact with water and not drained. It may need to be taken apart and cleaned up. It may just need to be drained.

It is very important that after you ride in water or go mudding you need to drain the starter. there is a plug on the bottom of the starter just for this reason. It would also be a good idea to drain the recoil.

Pull your starter and check the brushes, chances are thats all it is. You can get a starter brush kit at your dealer if thats it. It's alot cheaper than buying a new starter. As these guys said, make sure you drain your starter regularly if you play in those muddy water holes alot.
