I've actually really liked the DS' styling. Especially the front fender mounts. Bombardier was taking a chance with a style like that....I like it when companies take chances, normally us comsumers are the one's who benefit.

Dune, Baja, and wide fire roads, it's hard to beat the DS. They all have their pluses and minuses. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

the ds weigh about 470 MAX the pred is just 50 lbs lighter i can assure you that you weigh 50 lbs more than me and the ds is the bad *** looking quad in the world dont tell me the rapy or your pred is better looking than the dune demon!!!
plus the stock ds of mine will beat any piped pred so dont make fun of the ds man only his weigh is bit of a problem for me cuz im a small guy...

 

hellrider not every body has the same taste. what looks good to you may not look good to sombody else.

 

Unless you were going to ride exclusively MX I dought you’d be happier with either the Z or Predator. Nothing outperforms the DS in the dunes, and it seams like that is primarily what you’d have for riding over there.
I went with the Z for its light weight, reverse, excellent handling and ergo’s.
The Predator does have a slight acceleration edge, but you need to try them both before you could pick the better quad for you. If you weigh less then 150 pounds then the Z would probably be a better fit, but hard to say until you try it.

 

dont listen to people who told you that the z400+kfx400 have many frame cracking problems, depending on how high you plan to jump your bike, i hate to say but the pred has its problems. the z and the dvx ARE EXACLTY THE SAME! this z is not as fast as the pred, but when you thow some mods on it then nothin can stop it. the pred is a nice bike, the i think the ds is a nice *** bike expessially that baja X. good luck w/ your choice.

I would really think about this before you do it, I think you may really be dissapointed with the power of these smaller machines. California is one of the best states for sand and the DS really shines in the dunes... .02

 

yea thats true, if you get the dvx your going feel different in the power..you might even get disapointed. im sure its not a bad bike at all,its just like the z. if your lookin for speed then get the pred, it will be a great dune bike once you throw some sand tires on it..but why give up the ds? it is the king of the dunes(imo) along with the banshee. well put it this way hellrider, if your going to be riding in only dunes than get the pred, its fast, and you dont need reverse.

 

the z does have alot of problems with cracked frames... every1 i have seen does... if any jumping is done with them... they crack.. even my buddys dealer told him that when he brought his in for its new frame.
the pred does too... near the gas tank mount... kinda odd for it to crack there...

 

i do alot of jumping, i check the frame and i dont see anything...but i dont jump like the h-bomb guys do tho. i have never heard of that many problems. HOZED i was recently on the h-bomb site and they said they got cheap with the pred for 04 models, and the guys ended up selling them after like a month. but other wise i think is a pretty cool bike.
